Eugene Wapniarski, 72 of Hendersonville died Friday, March 4, 2005.
A native of Chicago he worked for the City of Chicago for 30 years. He was a US Air Force Veteran during the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post in Chicago.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, and is preceded in death by a daughter Christian Marie Wapniarski. (this should read Christina Marie Wapniarski)
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joanna Gemma Roccasalva Wapniarski; a son, Eugene Wapniarski of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Yvonne, Samantha, Joe, and Chris Wapniarski; one great-grandchild, Alicia Sigrist; his mother-in-law, Margaret Reed Roccasalva.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. John Aurilia will officiate.

Chester Wapniarski was born on February 24, 1909 in Poland, son of Stanley Wapniarski and Waclowa Hojhacki.
Chester, and his brother Walter, came to the US with their uncle, Vincent, and were raised by Vincent's family. It is said that Stanley never came to the US. However, there was a Stanislaw Wapniarski that migrated in 1902 from Wilesyn to Ellis Island who is very likely related.
Chester married Angiline _____.
Chester Wapniarski died in July, 1970 at age 61.

Stanley married Waclowa Hojhacki.
Stanley was a blacksmith in Poland and murdered someone over a nonpayment dispute, so he was not able to come to the US. But he did send his two sons, Walter and Chester over with Vincent Wapniarski. Walter and Chester were raised by Vincent's family.
