1. Bernice1 Fanning.
     Bernice Fanning was born on June 28, 1912 in Lakewood, daughter of Jasper Layfayette Fanning and Lavonia Elizabeth Howell; The June 28, 1912 birth date comes from a collection of articles written in the Carlsbad Argus. An alternate birthdate is published in the Eddy County, NM GenWeb. The announcement shows: FANNING, (Girl) Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Fanning L.P. 16 AUG 1912 9 lbs.; Grandma and Grandpa Howell.
     Bernice Fanning married Mr. _____ Boyd.
     Bernice married Denton Smith.

2. Jasper Layfayette2 Fanning.
     Jasper Layfayette Fanning was born in April, 1887 in New Mexico, son of Martin Wesley Fanning and Sara Sally Corn.
     At age 24, Jasper married Lavonia Elizabeth Howell, daughter of William Green Howell and Lucinda _____. Lavonia and Jasper were married on Wednesday October 11, 1911; An account of the wedding of Jasper Fanning and Miss Lavonia Howell appeared in the Lakewood newspaper, "The Progress"
     On Wednesday evening at six o'clock there was a beautiful wedding at the Lakewood Hotel, when Jasper Fanning led to the altar Miss Lavonia Howell.
     The wedding ceremony was performed by Judge J. W. Dauron in a solemn and impressive manner, characteristic to the stately gentleman who officiated.
     Jasper Fanning, the bridegroom was born and reared on the beautiful Seven Rivers Farm where he now lives and is one of the most popular young men in Eddy county. Young, handsome and genial, he is popular with all of both sexes who know him. The young and the old alike are his friends.
     The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Howell and was reared in Eddy county. She is beautiful and accomplished, and is beloved by all who know her.
     Only the relatives and a few close friends of the contracting parties were present. It was said to be the most handsome couple ever seen at Hymens altar in this section of New Mexico. The Progress joins the host of admiring friends in congratulations and well wishes. May their voyage over life's turbulent sea be made on smooth waters with not a storm or threatening cloud to mar the sunshine of happiness under which they are now sailing.
     Jasper Layfayette Fanning died in June, 1939 at age 52.

3. Lavonia Elizabeth2 Howell.
     Lavonia Elizabeth Howell was born on March 6, 1894 in Ingram, Texas, daughter of William Green Howell and Lucinda _____.
     At age 17, Lavonia married Jasper Layfayette Fanning, son of Martin Wesley Fanning and Sara Sally Corn. Lavonia and Jasper were married on Wednesday October 11, 1911; An account of the wedding of Jasper Fanning and Miss Lavonia Howell appeared in the Lakewood newspaper, "The Progress"

4. Martin Wesley3 Fanning.
     Martin Wesley Fanning was born on April 27, 1855 in Morgan County, Illinois, son of George Wesley Fanning and Mary More McDonald.
     At age 23, Martin married Sara Sally Corn. Martin and Sara were married on Thursday July 4, 1878 in Kerr County, Texas.
     Martin Wesley Fanning died on November 26, 1913 in Seven Rivers, New Mexico, at age 58. He was buried in McDonald Cemetery, Seven Rivers, New Mexico.

5. Sara Sally3 Corn was also known as Sarah Elizabeth Corn. She also went by the name of Sally.
     Sara Sally Corn was born on October 10, 1862 in Kerr County, Texas. Both of her parents were born in Alabama.
     At age 15, Sara married Martin Wesley Fanning, son of George Wesley Fanning and Mary More McDonald. Martin and Sara were married on Thursday July 4, 1878 in Kerr County, Texas.
     Sara Sally Corn died on June 26, 1945 in California at age 82. She was buried in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico.

6. William Green3 Howell was also known as Landy Walker Howell.
     William Green Howell was born between 1825 and 1860.
     William married Lucinda _____.

7. Lucinda3 _____ was also known as Elsie Ann Lackey.
     Lucinda _____ was born between 1825 and 1880.
     Lucinda married William Green Howell.

8. George Wesley4 Fanning.
     George Wesley Fanning was born on December 23, 1823 in Alabama, son of Joseph Fanning and Elizabeth _____.
     At age 24, George married Mary More McDonald, daughter of Thomas McDonald and Rachel Axley. George and Mary were married on Sunday September 3, 1848 in Jefferson County, Illinois. He was buried in 1861 in Fredericksburge, Gillespie County, Texas.
     George Wesley Fanning died in 1861 in Spring Creek, Gillespie County, Texas.

9. Mary More4 McDonald.
     Mary More McDonald was born on January 24, 1829 in Johnson Co., Illinois, daughter of Thomas McDonald and Rachel Axley.
     At age 19, Mary married George Wesley Fanning, son of Joseph Fanning and Elizabeth _____. George and Mary were married on Sunday September 3, 1848 in Jefferson County, Illinois.
     Mary More McDonald died on April 25, 1921 in Lakewood, Eddy County, New Mexico, at age 92. She was buried in McDonald Cemetery, near Lakewood, Eddy County, New Mexico.

16. Joseph5 Fanning.
     Joseph Fanning was born in 1798 in Virginia, son of Joseph Fanning and Barbara Davis.
     Joseph married Elizabeth _____.

17. Elizabeth5 _____.
     Elizabeth _____ was born in 1802 in Virginia.
     Elizabeth married Joseph Fanning, son of Joseph Fanning and Barbara Davis.

18. Thomas5 McDonald.
     Thomas McDonald was born on June 4, 1803 in Chantham County, NC or IL, son of Lenvil McDonald and Luraney Taylor.
     At the age of 24, Thomas married Rachel Axley, daughter of David Axley and Keziah Davenport. Thomas and Rachel were married on Thursday June 14, 1827 in Jefferson, Illinois.
     Thomas McDonald died in Spring Creek, Gillespie County, Texas. He was buried in Private Land, near Harper, Gillespie County, Texas.

19. Rachel5 Axley.
     Rachel Axley was born in 1809 in Kentucky, daughter of David Axley and Keziah Davenport.
     Rachel married Thomas McDonald, son of Lenvil McDonald and Luraney Taylor. Thomas and Rachel were married on Thursday June 14, 1827 in Jefferson, Illinois.


--- 6th Generation ---


32. Joseph6 Fanning.
     Joseph Fanning was born between 1756 and 1757 in Virginia. He married Barbara Davis on April 18, 1790 in Montgomery County, Virginia. The LDS site marriage date would indicate that the wedding took place after the birth of their first son.
     Joseph Fanning died between 1846 and 1849 in Madson County, Arkansas.

33. Barbara6 Davis.
     Barbara Davis was born in 1774 in Virginia. She married Joseph Fanning on April 18, 1790 in Montgomery County, Virginia. The LDS site marriage date would indicate that the wedding took place after the birth of their first son.
     Barbara Davis died in 1830.

36. Lenvil6 McDonald was also known as McDaniel.
     Lenvil McDonald was born circa 1768 in Orange County, North Carolina.
     Lenvil married Luraney Taylor, daughter of Thomas Taylor and Eleanor Dodson. Lenvil and Luraney were married before 1790 in Chatham County, North Carolina.
     Lenvil married Elizabeth _____.
     Lenvil McDonald died in 1858 in Jefferson County, Illinois. He was buried in Eberneza Cemetery, Jefferson County, Illinois.

37. Luraney6 Taylor also went by the name of Raney.
     Luraney Taylor was born circa 1772 in Chatham County, North Carolina, daughter of Thomas Taylor and Eleanor Dodson.
     Luraney married Lenvil McDonald. Lenvil and Luraney were married before 1790 in Chatham County, North Carolina.
     Luraney Taylor died before 1843 in Illinois.

38. David6 Axley.
     David Axley was born in 1784.
     David Axley married Keziah Davenport.

39. Keziah6 Davenport.
     Keziah Davenport married David Axley.
