Sarah Leslie Larremore was born on November 2, 1898 in Penasco, Chaves County, New Mexico, daughter of William Thomas Larremore and Marinda Alice Cady. At age 21, Sarah married Horace Longbotham. Horace and Sarah were married on Wednesday December 24, 1919. Sarah Leslie Larremore died on August 10, 1963 in Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico, at age 64. She was buried in Memory Lane Cemetery, Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico. 2. William Thomas2 Larremore also went by the name of Tom. William Thomas Larremore was born on May 14, 1871 in Kerr County, Texas, son of Samuel Houston Larremore and Mary Snow. At age 26, William married Marinda Alice Cady, daughter of J. C. Cady Sr and Cyntha Alice Green. William and Marinda were married on Sunday January 23, 1898 in Hays County, Texas. William was a homesteader in Chaves County. He is shown with 3 sections of land W½SE 30/ 16-S 17-E No New Mexico PM NM Chaves SWNE 30/ 16-S 17-E No New Mexico PM NM Chaves SESE 30/ 16-S 17-E No New Mexico PM NM Chaves. William Thomas Larremore died on October 10, 1952 in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, at age 81. He was buried in Memory Lane, Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico; Bring's Funeral Home in Tucson, AZ relocatd him to Silver City, NM for burial. 3. Marinda Alice2 Cady. Marinda Alice Cady was born on May 9, 1876 in Hays County, Texas, daughter of J. C. Cady Sr and Cyntha Alice Green. At age 21, Marinda married William Thomas Larremore, son of Samuel Houston Larremore and Mary Snow. William and Marinda were married on Sunday January 23, 1898 in Hays County, Texas. Marinda Alice Cady died on February 17, 1951 in Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico, at age 74. She was buried in Memory Lane, Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico. 4. Samuel Houston3 Larremore also went by the name of Uncle Sam. Samuel Houston Larremore was born on December 7, 1844 in Washington County, Arkansas, son of John Larremore and Amanda Elizabeth Conway. Samuel enlisted on March 4, 1862 in Hays and Williamson County as a Private in Cavalry Company, Texas Volunteers. He was only 17. He was with Company F, 18th Texas Cavalry. He served under Col. N. H. Darnell's Regiment, C.S.A. R. N. Calhoun was the Captain and commanding officer. Samuel Houston (Sam) Larremore lost a leg while fighting in the Civil War. His leg was amputated by his own brother, either George or Leb Larremore. At age 23, Samuel married Mary Snow, daughter of Abner Hammett Snow and Elizabeth Mize. Samuel and Mary were married on Thursday October 8, 1868 in Gillespie County, Texas. The Marriage record indicates both Sam and Mary Snow Milne were living in Kerr County in 1868. Samuel Houston Larremore appeared on the census of 1880 in Kerr County, Texas. It shows: S. H. Larremore age-36 born-Arkansas Mary (wife) F 45 Kentucky W. T. M 9 Texas M. L. F 6 Texas M. A. F 4 Texas. At age 44, Samuel married Martha J. Wooten. Samuel and Martha were married on Sunday September 8, 1889 in Eddy County, New Mexico. At age 66, Samuel married Margaretta I. (Margaret) Sumruld. Samuel and Margaretta were married on Wednesday August 23, 1911 in Eddy County, New Mexico. This is Samuel Houston Larremore's third marriage. Samuel Houston Larremore died on April 13, 1929 in Eddy County, New Mexico, at age 84. He was buried in Elk Cemetery, Chaves County, New Mexico. Both his first and second wives are buried with him at Elk Cemetery, NM. His obituary appears in the PENASCO PRESS/HOPE PRESS, April 19, 1929, Hope, New Mexico. SAM LARREMORE DEAD: Friday evening April 12th at 9 p.m., Uncle Sam Larremore passed away. He had been sick for three weeks, and was at the home of his son, Tom Larremore, at the time of his death. He leaves a wife, son and daughter to mourn his loss. At the time of his death he was 84 years, 4 months and 5 days old. Funeral services were conducted at Lower Penasco by Rev. Allen Johnson. Uncle Sam was one of the old settlers of the mountains, having made his home at Lower Penasco where he engaged in farming and stockraising for many years. 5. Mary3 Snow. Mary Snow was born on October 11, 1832 in Barren County, Kentucky, daughter of Abner Hammett Snow and Elizabeth Mize. At age 23, Mary married John Milne. John and Mary were married on Wednesday February 27, 1856 in Burnet County, Texas. At age 35, Mary married Samuel Houston Larremore, son of John Larremore and Amanda Elizabeth Conway. Samuel and Mary were married on Thursday October 8, 1868 in Gillespie County, Texas. The Marriage record indicates both Sam and Mary Snow Milne were living in Kerr County in 1868. Mary Snow died in February, 1888 in Eddy County, New Mexico, at age 55. She was buried in Elk Cemetery, Chaves County, New Mexico. 6. J. C.3 Cady Sr. J. C. Cady Sr was born on May 13, 1842 in Miami County, Indiana, son of Benjamin Johnson Cady and Catherine Leming or Lining. J. C. Cady Sr married Cyntha Alice Green, daughter of William Green and Marinda _____. J. C. Cady Sr died on March 31, 1915 in Otero County, New Mexico, at age 72. He was buried in Elk Cemetery, Elk, New Mexico. 7. Cyntha Alice3 Green. Cyntha Alice Green was born on March 20, 1845 in Texas, daughter of William Green and Marinda _____. Cyntha Alice Green married J. C. Cady Sr, son of Benjamin Johnson Cady and Catherine Leming or Lining. Cyntha Alice Green died on July 1, 1910 in New Mexico at age 65. She was buried in Elk Cemetery, Elk, New Mexico. 8. John4 Larremore. John Larremore was born on September 5, 1813 in Green County, Kentucky, son of Rev. James Larremore and Patsy Benningfield. John married Amanda Elizabeth Conway. John and Amanda were married circa 1838. John Larremore appeared on the census of 1850 in Page 2085, #58, Williams County, Texas. John Larremore appeared again on the census of 1860 in Page 10, Line 1, Llano County, Texas. John Larremore appeared on the Tax List between 1855 and 1863. Larremore, John--in 1855, appears for the first time on the Burnet County tax assessment roll with 153 acres of a Preemption land grant (under Preemption Act of 1853) on Walnut Creek, valued at $150; also, 120 cattle, $720; 1 wagon, oxen and hogs, $166. His total property value in 1855 was $1036. Part of the John Larremore land grant lies within the northern limits of present Blanco County. In 1857, John Larremore appears again on the Burnet County tax assessment roll with 153 acres of the John Larremore Preemption grant valued at $1500 and 177 acres of the Peter J. Duncan grant, $177, both on waters of Walnut Creek; also, 42 acres of the Elias Jones land grant on Pecan Creek, $210. Other property included 7 horses, $350; 80 cattle, $400; 3 yoke of oxen, $120. His total property value was $2757. In 1858, John Larremore appears on the Burnet County tax assessment roll, with 153 acres of the John Larremore land grant on Walnut Creek, valued at $l500; 127 acres of the Peter J. Dunkin (Duncan) land grant on Walnut Creek, $127 and 42 acres of the Elias Jones land grant (out of 320 acres), on Pecan Creek, $210. As noted previously, part of the John Larremore land grant is within the present limits of Blanco County. Also, the Peter J. Duncan land grant is located in present Blanco County. The E. Jones land grant on Pecan Creek, is located within the southern limits of present Llano County. Other property of John Larremore in 1858 consisted of 8 horses valued at $280; 80 cattle, $400 and one yoke of oxen, $40. His total property value was $2557. He appears on the Llano County tax assessment roll for 1859 with the following amounts of property: 153 acres of the John Larremore land grant valued at $765; 127 acres of the P.J. Duncan land grant, $127; 33 1/5 acres of the Elias Jones land grant, $166; 5 horses, $260; 110 cattle,$660; 2 yoke of oxen and 150 hogs, $250. His total property value was $2228. A poll tax of fifty cents was paid. The first two land grants of John Larremore listed above are readily located in northern Blanco County, the P.J. Duncan tract being completely in Blanco County and John Larremore land grant being partly in Blanco and Llano Counties. He appears on the Blanco County tax assessment roll in 1859 with the following amounts of land; 36 acres of the Elias Jones land grant; 153 1/2 acres of the J. Larimore (Larremore) grant; 127 acres of the P.J. Duncan land grant. In 1860 and 1861, John Larremore does not appear on the Blanco County tax assessment roll. In 1862, he appears on the Blanco County tax assessment roll with 36 acres of the Elias Jones land grant (Abstract No. 215), valued at $180; 153 1/2 acres of the J. Larremore land grant, $1200; 127 acres of the P.J. Duncan land grant, $127; 3 horses, $200; 200 cattle, $1200; 60 sheep, $180; miscellaneous property, $210. His total property value was $3297 and he paid a poll tax of one dollar. In 1863, his name does not appear on the Blanco County tax assessment roll. John Larremore died on December 31, 1895 in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico, at age 82. He was buried in McDonald Cemetery, near Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico. 9. Amanda Elizabeth4 Conway. Amanda Elizabeth Conway was born circa 1817 in Arkansas. Amanda married John Larremore, son of Rev. James Larremore and Patsy Benningfield. John and Amanda were married circa 1838. Amanda Elizabeth Conway died on November 17, 1905 in Eddy County, New Mexico. She was buried in McDonald Cemetery, Eddy County, New Mexico. 10. Abner Hammett4 Snow. Abner Hammett Snow was born on July 13, 1798 in East Montepelier, Vermont, son of Jonathan Snow and Lydia Hammett. At age 26, Abner married Elizabeth Mize. Abner and Elizabeth were married on Friday November 5, 1824 in Barren County, Kentucky. Abner Hammett Snow died after 1860 in Burnet County, Texas. 11. Elizabeth4 Mize. Elizabeth Mize was born on October 20, 1807 in Georgia. At age 17, Elizabeth married Abner Hammett Snow, son of Jonathan Snow and Lydia Hammett. Abner and Elizabeth were married on Friday November 5, 1824 in Barren County, Kentucky. Elizabeth Mize died circa 1849 in Barren County, Kentucky. 12. Benjamin Johnson4 Cady. William married Marinda _____. William Green was awarded a Class 2 conditional Land Grand for 640 acres on June 22, 1838 in Sabine County, Texas. On April 5, 1841, all requirements were met, and it became an unconditional grant. James5 Larremore was also known as Larimore. Rev. James Larremore was born in 1776 in Rockingham, North Carolina, son of Phillip Larimore and Mary A. Garrett. He lived in Green County, Kentucky. Rev. James married Patsy Benningfield, daughter of Thomas Benningfield and Patsy _____. James and Patsy were married on Thursday February 28, 1811 in Green County, Kentucky. Rev. James Larremore purchased a farm on the Trace Fork of Pitman Creek. The deed is signed by James Larimore between 1816 and 1817 in Green County, Kentucky. The 1817 Tax List, page 25 for Green County, Kentucky, shows "James Larimore. White Male above 21, 1. Blacks above 16, 2, Total Blacks 4. Horses-Mares-Mules 2. Land Value per acre, 10.00. Total acres 104. Total value, 2,200. Water Course: Trace." Allen's History of Kentucky relates that James Larimore was one of the early Baptist Ministers of Green County, Kentucky and migrated to Arkansas about 1820 where he lived and died. Rev. James Larremore died circa 1853 in Crawford County, Arkansas. 17. Patsy5 Benningfield was also known as Martha. Patsy Benningfield was born circa 1785 in Saint Paul's Parish, Hanover County, Virginia, daughter of Thomas Benningfield and Patsy _____. Some think she may have been born in England instead. Patsy married Rev. James Larremore, son of Phillip Larimore and Mary A. Garrett. James and Patsy were married on Thursday February 28, 1811 in Green County, Kentucky. The census of 1810 in Green County, Kentucky, suggests that James Larimore was a widower with several children before his marriage to Patsy. It shows that James was between the age of 26 and 45, with several small children. However, there wasn't a woman in the household old enough to be his wife. His union with Patsy added another 6 children to this family. Patsy Benningfield died in Arkansas. She was buried in Arkansas. 20. Jonathan5 Snow. Jonathan Snow was born on July 12, 1768 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, son of Mark Snow and Hannah Sears. At age 21, Jonathan married Lydia Hammett. Jonathan and Lydia were married on Thursday February 11, 1790 in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts. Jonathan Snow died on March 31, 1846 in Montpelier, Vermont, at age 77. 21. Lydia5 Hammett. Lydia Hammett was born on August 17, 1771 in Long Plain, Massachusetts. At age 18, Lydia married Jonathan Snow, son of Mark Snow and Hannah Sears. Phillip6 Larimore was also known as Larremore. He was also known as Philemon. Phillip Larimore was born circa 1736 in Maryland or Ireland. Phillip Larimore married Mary A. Garrett. Phillip and Mary were married circa 1756. Phillip Larimore appeared on the census of 1790 in Salisbury District, Page 169, Rockingham County, North Carolina; It reads: LARIMER, PHILIP-head of family 2 free white males of 16 years and upward, including head of families 1 free white male under 16 years 3 free white females including head of family 0 all other free people 0 slaves. He appeared again on the census of 1800 in Salisbury District, Page 450, Rockingham County, North Carolina; This could be the Sr. because we do not know when the census was taken. Phillip Larimore left a will on March 18, 1800 in Rockingham County, North Carolina; Phillip Larremore of Rockingham, North Carolina in his will probated in 1800 names his children: James Larremore, Philip Larremore, Mary Strader, wife of Lewis Strader, Memory Ward, wife of John Ward, Cathy Milby, wife of John Milby. Patsy6 _____. In circa 1780 Patsy married Henry Benningfield. 40. Mark6 Snow. Mark Snow was born on August 6, 1731, son of Jonathan Snow and Thankful Freeman. At age 21, Mark married Hannah Sears. Mark and Hannah were married on Sunday October 1, 1752. Lydia Shaw died after June, 1716. 320. Mark9 Snow. Mark Snow was born on May 9, 1628 in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts, son of Nicholas Snow and Constance Hopkins. At age 26, Mark married Anna Cooke. Mark and Anna were married on Friday January 15, 1655. At age 31, Mark married Jane Prence. Mark and Jane were married on Friday January 9, 1660. Mark Snow died on January 9, 1694 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, at age 65. 321. Jane9 Prence. Jane Prence Thomas Prence, of All Saints, Barking, London, sailed on the Fortune which left about August and arrived at Cape Cod 11/9/1621. All 32 (35) passengers settled at Plymouth. Jane Prence was born on November 1, 1637 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Thomas Prence and Mary Collier. At age 22, Jane married Mark Snow, son of Nicholas Snow and Constance Hopkins. Mark and Jane were married on Friday January 9, 1660. Jane Prence died in June, 1712 at age 74. 640. Nicholas10 Snow. Nicholas Snow was born circa January 25, 1599 in England. He was christened on Jan 25, 1599 in London, England. Nicholas Snow arrived in Plymouth on the Anne in 1623. He held various minor positions in Plymouth, such as highway surveyor. Nicholas married Constance Hopkins, daughter of Stephen Hopkins and Mary _____. Nicholas and Constance were married on Saturday May 22, 1627 in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts. The Snows moved from Plymouth to Nauset, on Cape Cod in the 1640s. On the Cape, Nicholas served as surveyor, constable and selectman. Nicholas Snow died on November 15, 1676 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. There are reputedly 12 children by Constance Hopkins; however, only five sons are named in the last will and testament of Nicolas Snow. The inventory of Nicholas' estate, taken at the time of his death, includes carpenter tools. This may have been his trade. His inventory also included books, so he was probably literate. 641. Constance10 Hopkins. Constance Hopkins Constance Hopkins was a Mayflower passenger. She journeyed with her father and stepmother, Stephen and Elizabeth Hopkins, her brother Giles, her half-sister Damaris and her half-brother Oceanus who was born during the voyage. Constance Hopkins was born in 1605 in England, daughter of Stephen Hopkins and Mary _____. Constance married Nicholas Snow. Nicholas and Constance were married on Saturday May 22, 1627 in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts. Constance Hopkins died on October 25, 1677 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.
